Louisiana. France. P-A21. 1720. 100 Livres. PMG About Uncirculated 53. No. 4017975. 1720. Printed on bright white paper. Boldly printed with indent at left. PMG notes Previously mounted. These La Louisiane notes were Royal issues created by Scottish born John Law for the purpose of stimulating investments in the New World. The first notes, signed by Law himself, were from the 1716-1718 time period and are virtually unknown. The first series of Banque Royale notes are from 1719 and are rare. This second series notes were from July 1, 1720. These notes were inextricably linked to the South Sea bubble of 1720, widely considered to be the greatest financial collapse in modern history. This lightly circulated note is about as nice as they come and is worthy of premium bids.
