1885 West Essex Archers First Silver Medal. Awarded to Albert G. Frothingham. Triangular, 57 mm at base. 19 grams. Lovely silver medal awarded to Albert Goodwin Frothingham in 1885. Albert was a 14 year-old student at the Chauncy Hall School in Waltham, Massachusetts, and a proficient archer. Chauncy Hall is a prestigious preparatory school founded in 1828, and is still in operation.<p>Albert Frothingham (born September 17, 1871, in Boston) was active in a number of historical and religious societies in the Boston area including the Lexington Minutemen, the Simon Robinson Lodge of Masons, the Mayflower Society of Boston, the New England Genealogical Society, Sons of the American Revolution, and the Episcopal Churchmans Club of Lexington. He lived to a ripe old age, passing away on August 13, 1965, in Lexington, Massachusetts about a month shy of his 94th birthday.
