1989年壹圓。沈陽造幣廠。计划发行量1,000枚。现代中国币中最罕有的版别之一。中华人民共和国成立 40 週年纪念。此币正面主体為中空的"40"字样，内嵌五星和太阳光辉，和平鸽环绕，上方為中文"中华人民共和国成立四十週年"，下方為国歌《义勇军进行曲》部分章节五线谱及年份1949-1989。背面為国徽及人民大会堂，礼花绽放，面值"一圆"及日期1989。据证书所载，这些纪念币发行於1989年国庆日的两日之前，即9月28日。孙克勤在《中国现代流通硬币》一书中提出，此币发行量為1,000枚，但许多现代币专家学者均认為其实际发行量远少於此。确切发行量不明，但相信数量极少。本拍品与另外 16 枚并列 PCGS 及 NGC 冠军分，暂时未有获评 Proof-70。经精心打铸而成，图文雕刻细腻，浮雕立体，铜镍币中难能可贵。近乎完美，在资深集藏中亦毫不逊色，必定引起激烈竞争。自 2019 年后首次上拍，难得的收藏良机。
CHINA. Yuan, 1989. Shenyang Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo.KM-220; Sun-J14b; Shen-pg. 198-199. Purported Mintage: 1,000. One of the RAREST issuances of the modern Chinese numismatic program, this piece honors the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. The obverse is composed of an abstract national emblem within the "40", with peace doves above and below, excerpt from the national anthem "March of the Volunteers" below with date "1949-1989" in exergue, Chinese inscription "中華人民共和國成立四十週年" (Zhōnghuá rénmín gònghéguó chénglì sìshí zhōunián [The 40th Anniversary of the Founding]) above. While the reverse depicts the national emblem flanked by decorative fireworks, the Great Hall of the People below, denomination "壹圆" (Yī yuán [One Yuan]) and date in exergue. According to the certificate of authenticity these issues were released on September 28, 1989, just two days before the official anniversary. Though Sun Keqin states in "中国现代流通硬币" (Zhōngguó xiàndài liútōng yìngbì[Chinese Modern Circulating Coins]) the proofs had a mintage of only 1,000 pieces, many scholars of the modern series believe the actual mintage is significantly less. The exact number struck is unknown, but is believed to be a very limited quantity.The present example is tied with 16 other specimens at PCGS and NGC for the finest certified, with no example presently certified as Proof-70. The care taken in striking this piece is evident, with the detailed design being carefully engraved and the cameo nature of the piece making it pop in a way unlike most other copper-nickel issues. There is very little to fault on this issue, and we expect fierce competition for the right to add this beauty to an advanced collection. As our first offering of the type since 2019, needless to say opportunities to acquire an example of the type are seldom seen.
