We have yet to offer this type publicly, and it is sure to attract spirited bidding. British North Borneo was a protectorate of the United Kingdom 1888 until the Japanese invaded in 1942. Liberation from the Japanese invaders did not come until the end of World War II in the Pacific on August 15th, 1945. This note comes from the last series of currency issued by the protectorate, as after the invasion & liberation North Borneo was ceded to the Crown Colony.
