GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, ND (1551-53). London Mint; mm: tun. Edward VI. PCGS EF-45. S-2482; N-1937. Third period, fine silver issue. Obverse: Crowned and ermine-mantled bust facing slightly left; Tudor rose to left, XII (mark of value) to right; Reverse: Square-topped coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. Well struck and centered, this enticing specimen offers deep gunmetal gray toning and a tremendous wholesome nature. While a slight degree of weakness is noted in the youthful kings portrait, the detailing in his ermine mantle is rather precise. To view all items from the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection, click here. From the Mark and Lottie Salton Collection.
