1892-S Morgan Silver Dollar. AU-58 (PCGS). Virtually complete satin luster and overall full striking detail confirm this coin as a conditionally rare 1892-S Morgan dollar. Lightly toned in iridescent gold with eye appeal to spare. The legendary 1892-S is one of the rarest silver dollars of this type in Mint State. Very few examples remain at that level of preservation, and they are so costly as to be out of reach for most buyers in todays market. We are happy to offer examples in both Mint State and Choice AU, as here, for discriminating collectors this auction. This is one of the nicest near-Mint pieces that we have handled in recent memory, and it is sure to have no difficulty finding its way into a high grade Morgan dollar set comprised mostly of Mint State coins.
