Fr. 142. 1880 $20 Legal Tender Note. PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ. Out of 68 notes graded by PMG for this catalog number, just two have bene encapsulated at this grade level, with none finer. The design is quite vivid, which stands out on creamy white paper. The technical quality is outstanding, and any collector would be proud to acquire to upgrade to this example. The serial numbers are found in a dark blue ink whilst the treasury seal is in a cherry red color. The reverse displays intricate lathe work featuring geometric patterns in a hunter green ink. The Legal Tender clause is at left of center, while counters are found in each corner. At left on the obverse is a bust of Alexander Hamilton, while Victory is at right holding a shield & sword.
