1893 Isabella Quarter. MS-66 (PCGS). A regal layer of sea-green and russet-gray iridescence is brought to life by the underlying luster on both sides of this premium Gem. Virtually mark-free and very attractive in all regards. This commemorative quarter dollar, the first of its denomination, was struck at the behest of the Board of Lady Managers of the Columbian Exposition, of which Susan B. Anthony of modern mini-dollar fame was a member. Its portrait of Queen Isabella, though not based on any one likeness of the queen, represents the first time an actual woman -- other than Liberty -- was featured on a U.S. coin. PCGS# 9220. NGC ID: BYJ9.
