1870 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. Proof-55 (PCGS). This coin is a briefly circulated Proof as confirmed by both the obverse and reverse dies. It should be noted that the reverse die is a reuse of the 1866 Proof reverse, used to strike Proofs through 1870. Lovely golden-gray surfaces show reddish-gold accents only light abrasions from brief circulation, while the obvious Proof strike, wire edge and remnants of the formerly mirrored surfaces still remain. PCGS# 7018. NGC ID: 252S.
