1920 Portrait Plaque, Priscilla. By James Earle Fraser. Bronze. Extremely Fine. Approximately 15 inches x 10.5 inches. Cast by Gorham Founders, whose mark is on the bottom edge at right. Lovely soft jade green patina over much of the surface, while some soft golden brown remains in the recesses. A thoughtful design by Fraser that we do not have in our online archives. His 1902 portrait of a young child, Horatio Hathaway Brewster, earned him some attention and numerous commissions, and he produced several bas relief portraits of both children and adults, including this one. His estate gifted a smaller version of this to Syracuse University, but this large format is quite striking. Mounted to an integral wooden stand and ready for tabletop or wall display. A fine art piece by one of Americas most acclaimed sculptors who is probably best known for his design of the Buffalo nickel. <strong>Due to the size and nature of this lot, additional shipping charges apply.
