1923-D Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. MS-66+ (PCGS). CAC. This beautiful example exhibits subtle powder blue highlights to dominant rose-gold surfaces. Fully struck and highly lustrous with captivating eye appeal. The 1923-D is the most available mintmarked double eagle from the Roaring Twenties. Obviously many of the 1,702,250 coins struck were used in international transactions, and thus spared from the widespread melting of gold coins during the late 1930s.
