A crisply struck, lustrous piece with more than a little mint red remaining, mostly on the obverse. Otherwise toned to a nice chocolate-brown and the surfaces possess a fresh, satiny appearance. Thanks to the Cohen hoard, a cache of Mint State Virginia halfpennies turned up by Baltimore numismatist Col. Mendel I.
