Islamic - Early Post-Reform,UMAYYAD: AE fals (3.33g), al-Rusafa, ND (ca. 735-745), A-185S, standard design, with the obverse bearing three annulets in the margin, identical to type Walker-838 from the mint of Dimashq, Fine, RRR. An Umayyad caliphal palace existed at al-Rusafa (near al-Raqqa), which also struck the fulus with the mint formula al-Madina Madin Amir al Muminin (A-183). This piece appears to be the fourth known fals of al-Rusafa.
