Obverse: Bust facing slightly left, in military attire and wearing plumed shuko; Reverse: Longevity symbol. <em>Edge</em>: Plain. A VERY RARE silver issue that channels the original medallic issue for the 50th birthday of the military governor and important figure in the early Republic, Hsiao Yao-nan (Xiao Yaonan), this piece also evokes the tall hat types of Yuan Shih-kai from the preceding decade. Most attractively toned, with a gunmetal gray-cabernet nature throughout, and some areas of deeper cobalt near portions of the peripheries.
