A RARE, KEY DATE in the series, collectors demand these pieces in any condition, but especially so in problem-free states of preservation, as this piece is. Light circulation in the form of rub is seen on the high elements of the design, with some friction also noted. Patches of luster remain present, and these, when coupled with the eclectic and stormy toning of intense magenta and cobalt, turn this piece into a masterwork. Certain to be much contested on account of these merits.
