PERU. Cob 8 Escudos, 1720-L M. Lima Mint. Philip V. NGC AU Details--Mount Removed.Fr-7; KM-38.2; Cal-2132. This shimmering example is nicely centered and well detailed for the type, offering strong and readable characters and a particularly boldly impressed Spanish arms on the reverse. Noted by NGC, there has been a mount removed from the edge of the coin, leaving evidence at approximately the 9 oclock edge. These Escudos are demanded in any condition, and this example is sure to appeal given the shimmering nature and RARITY of the type. Likely to be fought over, this example will improve the next collection of cobs it enters.
