Texas. Treasury Warrant. 1842. 73 Cents. Very Fine. This Treasury Warrant was issued to Isaac Parker, who was a legislator in Texas. Parker was born in Georgia, but later moved to Texas where he served as a lawman. During the Texas Revolution he served in Elisha Clapps company of Rangers. Parker County is named for him. Later in life he served four terms as a Senator. Isaac would later go on to identify his niece, Cynthia Ann Parker, who was captured as a child by Native Americans at Fort Parker and lived with the Comanche for 25 years, when she was captured during a raid by Texans on a Comanche hunting camp.
