Schneider I, 15; North 1138/1144; Spink 1484/1486), a faint crimp in field, otherwise bright and lustrous, a delightfully compact and uniform striking, almost extremely fine, and an exceptionally rare die pairing with a most unusual reverse legend reading, an exemplary early issue of this now iconic high Medieval European coinage, in NGC holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #6295175-006) This cataloguer traces only six verifiable Series B/C Nobles offered at worldwide auction, none of which had this unusual reverse legend reading. Jesus is almost fully articulated IhESV, as opposed to the usual IhC reading encountered on virtually every other issue in the Century-long period of production.
