The Mercantile Bank of India Limited, $500, 24.8.1948, serial number 1239, blue on green, yellow and black, Mercury at right, 500 Dollars at each corner, watermark of the same at left, two clear and distinct handsigned signatures at lower centre and right, reverse grey-blue, the Pai Fang at Confucius Cemetery Wan Gu Chang Chun at left,(Pick 241), PMG 35 Choice Very Fine (Repaired, Stains lightened). Overall an extremely rare note with robust colours and very good eye appeal. One of the iconic notes in the Hong Kong series and a must have note.
