1879-CC Morgan Silver Dollar. VAM-3. Top 100 Variety. Capped Die. MS-62 (PCGS). This lustrous, typically struck example is toned with multi-colored iridescent toning, equally so on each side. Several heavy milling marks are noted on Libertys cheek and chin, these probably being the grade-limiting factors. The famous "capped die" variety has since been shown to be a CC over CC mintmark occurrence, though the new findings have done nothing to quell the demand for the variety. A classic issue in a solid collector grade.
