1844 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-1. Rarity-2. Misplaced Date, Doubled Die Obverse. AU-58 (PCGS). CAC. Medium slate-gray with some rose highlights on the obverse, while the reverse is medium silver gray with some deeper areas in the protected regions. Nicely struck. "Quad stripes" obverse; die doubling is plain at the shield, where the vertical stripes are in groups of four (instead of groups of three as on <em>all</em> other dates in the series). Additionally, the top of an errant 8 can be seen in the hem of Libertys garment above the first 4 in the date.
