1786 Connecticut Copper. Miller 5.7-H.1, W-2610. Rarity-5. Mailed Bust Left. EF-40 (PCGS). 131.8 grains. Commendable quality for this scarce variety with sharp detail and pleasing chestnut-brown color. Light planchet flaws are seen across each side, quite common for this and many other 1786 varieties, but post-strike problems are nonexistent. Nicely centered and the vast majority of the major detail is clear including most of the date. From the Norman G. Peters Collection.
