1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-2b. Rarity-6. Plain Edge, Punctuated Date. Good Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS). A more affordable representative of this elusive die marriage, most known examples of which are in low grades. Crimson, dark copper and olive-brown surfaces are rough and granular in texture to explain the stated qualifier. Wear is commensurate with the grade but, while many design elements have been lost, enough of the diagnostics remain to confirm the C-2b attribution. From our sale of the Collection of John Quigley Pratt, 1861-1948, March 2017 Baltimore Auction, lot 427.
