Obverse: Elephant advancing right, trampling upon horned serpent; Reverse: Emblems of the pontificate; simpulum, aspergillum, securis, and apex. A little off-center, as is often the case with this popular type, but nevertheless with a solid strike on a flan of attractively toned metal. A decided cut above that which is generally encountered.
