1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar. O-113a, T-14. Rarity-3. Two Leaves, A/E in STATES. Fine-12 (ANACS). OH. A richly and evenly toned example awash in steely-charcoal patina. A dull mark in the lower right obverse field is the only mentionable blemish, both sides retaining bold outline detail to all major design elements. Overton-113 is a particularly popular die marriage of the 1795 Flowing Hair issue, the letter A in STATES clearly repunched over an erroneous E. The obverse is also readily identifiable by a prominent die break below the bust between the digit 5 in the date and star 15. In the later O-113a state, offered here, the obverse exhibits additional rough die breaks between stars 12 to 15. Tompkins Die Stage 5/2.
