An EXTREMELY RARE and quite possibly UNIQUE pattern issue that emanates from a remarkable series of such patterns that we are offering for the first time. This represents the only such example seen at NGC, with none having been seen at PCGS. This design (sometimes referred to as a "winged beast" or dragon) was ultimately selected for the gold 200 Yuan type struck later in 1981 (Fr-12; KM-47). Largely golden-brass in color, this near-Gem pattern striking offers intense brilliance and vibrancy despite some lightly scattered haziness and spotting.
