The author at right in heavy coat and fur cap, 20 lines of text above and to his right, vital dates 1850 to 1894 within wreaths below. The sculptors name and date 1915 are at the lower right. MEDALLIC ART CO N.Y. inscribed on the lower right edge. All Borglum medallic works are quite scarce, this more so than most. Especially famous for his sculptures on mountain sides -- Mt. Rushmore and Stone Mountain -- most collectors will find it much easier to house an example such as this in their collection!
