1829/7 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-101. Rarity-1. MS-62 (PCGS). CAC.A fully lustrous, strictly Mint State example with chalky-white surfaces and faint golden overtones. Myriad tiny bag marks are seen on each side and preclude a Choice Mint State grade, yet the overall choice appearance and originality easily merit CAC endorsement. The overdate die marriages in the widely collected Capped Bust half dollar series have long enjoyed strong demand among specialists in early U.S. Mint coinage. There are two such varieties for the 1829-dated issue, both of which share the same obverse with bold remnants of the 7 beneath the primary digit 9. Overton-101, offered here, is the slightly more available of the two varieties.PCGS# 6155. NGC ID: 24FT.From the Richard Jewell Collection.
