1814 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-102. Rarity-2. MS-61 (NGC).Classic album toning graces both sides of this appealing Mint State example. Rings of gold, green, blue, rose, and orange toning fade to untoned centers. Some unobtrusive hairlines in the fields subdue the luster a bit, yet the surfaces of each side retain a decent cartwheel effect. Softly struck at the top of the cap and opposing reverse, with faint adjustment marks visible in both places. This is an interesting variety whose obverse shows die rust and lines from a coarse brush that was used by a Mint employee in an attempt to smooth out the rust.PCGS# 6105.
