PA-113. Pennsylvania. May 1, 1760. 50 Shillings. PMG Very Fine 20.No. 21545. Plate D. Three bold signatures. Seen with the all-important "Printed by B. Franklin and D. Hall." The 50 shilling and 5 pound notes from this series have always been immensely popular due to their use of both red and black printing. PMG notes there are Split Repairs which are small and seen in their usual location at each side of the horizontal center fold. Seen with a very detailed nature leaf print on verso. There is something striking about the admonition "To Counterfeit is DEATH" being printed in all red text. But for a single Extremely Fine 40 this would have been Top Pop at PMG. An exceptional piece for the collector of Ben Franklin notes.
