NC-191. North Carolina. May 10, 1780. $25. PMG About Uncirculated 50.No. 7002. Two signatures. Motto "Dulce Pro Patria Mori," which translates "It is pleasing to die for ones country." Only 8,000 notes were printed on thin, laid paper. This 1780 Revolutionary War notes patriotic motto is very scarce for the $25 notes from this issue. Bright paper, superb paper quality, and bright red and brown signatures of James Green, Jr. and Joseph Leech. This is Top Pop at PMG. We last sold this example for $646.25 in our 2015 ANA sale. A real quality piece that is the cream of the crop.
