1947-S Washington Quarter. MS-68+ (NGC).A magnificent example of this issue, the sole finest graded at either service. Beautifully toned, the obverse with a thick crescent of speckled rainbow toning dominating a majority of the fields while the portrait is mostly untoned. This is a desirable appearance and ideal for specimens at the Superb Gem level and higher. The reverse has golden toning at the borders with a bit of steel-blue at the left side rim. Full booming luster and the surfaces are virtually perfect. Here is a significant opportunity for the collector who demands the best of the best.
