1988年墨西哥1000比索 NGC MS 65
MEXICO. 1000 Pesos, 1988-Mo. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-64.Fr-189; KM-535. Mintage: 657. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the nationalization of the oil industry. This VERY RARE specimen--one of just two graded across both major services, the other being an NGC MS-65</em>--has no auction records to be located, indicative of its incredibly difficult-to-acquire status. Virtually identical to the 100 Pesos design (KM-533; except for the denomination and metal), it honors President Lazaro Cardenas, who nationalized the nations oil in 1938. Whether intended as a proof issue or merely a prooflike business strike, this exceptional near-Gem radiates with lustrous beauty and is free from distractions. An equally rare 500 Pesos in gold (commemorating the same event, though with a different design) was offered through an FPL in 2014 at the impressive sum of $5,000, serving as a benchmark for the range which this double-sized offering could achieve.
