PHILIPPINES. Philippines - Bolivia. 8 Reales, ND (1832-34). Ferdinand VII. PCGS Genuine--Planchet Flaw, VF Details Gold Shield; Countermark: VF Details. KM-51; Basso-41; Gil Crown variety-5-4-1?. Type V Countermark, crowned F.7.0 within circular indent. Issued by decree of 2 October 1832, commencing 5 October 1832 until 20 December 1834. Countermark applied to the obverse of a 1832-PTS JL Bolivia Republic 8 Soles. The countermark is clearly impressed using a degraded punch muddling the central pearly in the crown. The host is evenly worn and richly toned, with a lamination error on the face of the obverse bust which is a common occurrence on these issues. Despite its shortcomings a wholesome and collectable example of the type sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
