COLOMBIA. Cundinamarca. 8 Reales, 1820-JF. NGC AU-55. KM-C-6; Restrepo-157-1. A highly attractive example of this normally well worn and problematic issue struck in low purity silver. The legends are quite strong with nicely formed clear crisp letters, while the weakness in the centers is less noticeable than normally encountered. The surfaces retaining much luster are relatively smooth aside from a small area in the lower right quadrant of obverse where a slight natural planchet roughness remains. A thin veneer of mottled golden gray tone with hints of iridescence and minor earthen deposits amongst the devices offering a pleasing appearance certain to catch the attention of many collectors.
