CHILE. 8 Escudos, 1811-So FJ. Santiago Mint. Ferdinand VII. NGC MS-62. KM-72; Onza-1348. Free from the often-occurring planchet imperfection with a strike that is as complete as we have seen on this four-year type, showing full segmentation through the wavy strands of Ferdinand VIIs hair and a crowned shield on the reverse that is perfectly executed. The luster remains remarkably fresh in its appearance, and almost no marks are seen for the grade. While very light, wispy instances of past handling are observed in the fields on both sides and ultimately preclude this piece from a much higher numeric designation. From the Oro del Nuevo Mundo Collection.
