This nicely preserved survivor exhibits a bold strike with complete legends save for the "S" at the end of the kings name and clearly defined central designs displaying even wear complemented by a pale gold color on the high points and pale orange patina in the in the protected areas offering this wholesome example a pleasing appearance. Albert and Isabella were appointed regents by Philip II of Spain to restore order and prosperity to the Spanish Netherlands, devastated by the Dutch Revolt. This included a coinage reform. The couple died without issue and the province reverted to Spanish rule for the remainder of the seventeenth century.</em>
