Exceptional quality for this Madonna & Child type with strong reflective gleam in the fields over which dusky gray and iridescent tone mix. While planchet adjustments are seen on virtually all surviving examples, the occurrences here stay almost entirely clear of the important religious motif. Easy the finest weve seen, and not surprisingly, the single finest grade of the type.
