1939 Oregon Trail Memorial. MS-68 (PCGS). A virtually perfect Ultra Gem with intense satiny luster across both sides. Faint gold and bronze colors accent the central regions, while the borders are toned in shades of magenta and lime green. The final Oregon Trail Memorial half dollar issue, the 1939 was produced to the extent of 3,000 coins and was first distributed as part of three-piece PDS sets by the Oregon Trail Memorial Association. The official sale price was $7.50 per set, up $1 per set from the previous year. This is the scarcest date of the type and is typically found in grades of MS-66 and lower. This MS-68 (PCGS) is a truly exceptional survivor and only a single coin has been certified finer.
