We are pleased to be offering multiple examples of this historic and desirable combination from the treasure of the fabled<em> S.S. Central </em><em>America</em> shipwreck. The double eagle in this lot is a beautiful Choice Mint State piece with razor sharp striking detail, full frosty luster and delightful pale rose-gold patina. It would make an ideal addition to a high grade double eagle collection or Mint State golds gold type set.<p>This coin is housed in a special large size PCGS holder that also includes one pinch of California gold dust. The back of the PCGS insert features the signature of Bob Evans, chief scientist and historian of the <em>S.S. Central America</em> treasure. Under Evans signature is the note: "I certify this coin and gold dust were recovered from the <em>S.S. Central America</em>."
