1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. Heraldic Eagle. BB-112, B-15. Rarity-3. Pointed 9, Wide Date. EF-45 (PCGS). Orange-gold and lavender-grey patina dominates the complexion of this handsome example. Considerable pearly luster remains in the protected areas across both sides. Glossy and overall smooth, an old mark below LI of LIBERTY serves as a convenient pedigree marker. One of the scarcer varieties of the 1798 Heraldic Eagle dollar, BB-112 has an extant population of only 250 to 450 coins (per Bowers, 2013). Most survivors grade VF or so, making this Choice EF example an important offering! From the Naples Bay Collection. From the Naples Bay Collection.
