1919-S Mercury Dime. MS-66 (NGC). CAC. OH. Peripheral toning in iridescent salmon pink and reddish-apricot is particularly vivid and varied on the reverse. Both sides are highly lustrous with a smooth, frosty texture. One of the more poorly produced issues in the Mercury dime series, the 1919-S (8,850,000 coins struck) is typically encountered with soft detail around the peripheries on one or both sides. The Larry H. Miller specimen is a notable exception, the peripheral detail universally sharp on both sides and the central reverse with emerging to bold definition. From the Larry H.
