1916-D Barber Quarter. MS-67 (PCGS). CAC. This wonderfully original, conditionally rare Superb Gem is toned in mottled olive-gray iridescence. Enhancing blushes of reddish-apricot are also evident here and there around the peripheries, especially on the obverse. Intensely lustrous with an overall sharp strike and virtually pristine appearance. Produced in large numbers (6,540,800 pieces) and widely saved as a final year issue, the 1916-D is the most available Barber quarter in terms of total number of Mint State coins extant. What sets this specimen apart from the vast majority of Uncirculated survivors are its outstanding level of preservation and phenomenal eye appeal. Equally well suited for inclusion in a high grade type or date set, or a specialized collection of richly toned silver.
