1796 Draped Bust Dime. JR-6. Rarity-3. Fine Details--Mount Removed (PCGS). Light steel and pewter gray surfaces with all major design elements boldly defined and the border with nearly complete denticulation. Tooling in the center of the obverse reveals from where the mount was removed, moderate hairlining and a somewhat glossy texture overall further confirming this coins previous use in jewelry. As the second most obtainable die marriage of the first year 1796 dime, JR-6 is popular for type purposes at all levels of preservation.
