1918-D Buffalo Nickel. MS-65+ (PCGS). Wisps of iridescent powder blue and champagne-apricot toning drift over both sides of this gorgeous Gem. The detail is impressively sharp for the issue, and the surfaces are expertly preserved with a smooth, frosty texture. Despite a generous mintage of 8,362,000 pieces, the 1918-D is a scarce Buffalo nickel in an absolute sense. High grade Mint State examples are rare, particularly when well struck, as here.
