1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-1. Rarity-2. Lettered Edge, With Pole. EF Details--Cleaned (PCGS). An exceptionally attractive coin for the assigned grade, both sides retain enough sharp to full detail to suggest an About Uncirculated designation. The in hand appearance is remarkably smooth with only a few tiny, well scattered marks, and warm deep golden-brown patina is also a praiseworthy attribute. The surfaces exhibit a curiously matte-like texture beneath the (re-)toning, however, providing the most significant evidence for the PCGS qualifier. Still a visually appealing coin, and certainly desirable as a type candidate from the Liberty Cap half cent series. Manley Die State 2.0, "very scarce."
