Ce coffret d’exception fut très vraisemblablement acheté lors de l’émission de 1839 ou très peu de temps après. Celui-ci sera précieusement conservé par la suite ce qui explique l’état de conservation parfait de ces monnaies. It belonged to the Diamond of Henley-in-Arden family and was sold at Sothebys auction the 10 April 1856 lot n° 208 and Baldwin auction n° 96 the 24 September 2015 lot n° 3573. The case was likely purchased during the 1839 issue or very shortly after and carefully preserved, which explains the perfect state of preservation of these coins. The three gold coins and the eight silver coins are the finest known and graded examples. We will apply a right of assembly if a collector wishes to buy the set, after the provisional auction of separate lots n°807 to 814 the set starting price will be calculated by adding the realized prices of the eight previous lots.
