CHINA. Qing (Ch’ing) Dynasty. Gold 10 Tael Ingot, ND (ca. 1750). EXTREMELY FINE.Dimensions: 80.92 x 25.98 mm. Weight: 367.85 gms. "Yuan Ji" (private bank name) at center, "Treasure" at either end, reverse stamped twice in circular indent. Typical shape with slightly raised ends and ripple pattern on face. The three stamps across face are similar to those found on ingots from the wreck of the VOC East-Indiaman Geldermalsen except the stamps on this bar are circular instead of square. No markings on base or sides. Upon close inspection with the aid of magnification minor deposits are noticed in the crevasses of this impressive ingot. A real treat for the specialist of Chinese sycee as the opportunity to acquire such a rarity does not present itself often.
