1871 Pattern Quarter Dollar. Copper, reeded edge. Judd-1094. Pollock-1230. Rarity 7. PCGS graded Proof 64 Red & Brown. CAC. Lots of mint red remaining, and fresh and original with all the expected color and a few minute specks. The obverse is James B. Longacres Indian Princess design, where she holds a pole with cap at top with her right hand, her left supports a globe inscribed LIBERTY on a raised ribbon, flags are seen behind her. The only other device is the date below. On the reverse the regular dies for the quarter are seen, but of course struck in copper with delicate waves of variegated toning.
