A rare and desirable pattern in any grade, particularly so at this lofty premium gem grade. The obverse depicts the head of Liberty facing right, sporting a cap which folds up at the back, the cap is adorned with three stars above her forehead. A ribbon binds her hair and a portion of ribbon over her shoulder is inscribed LIBERTY. Above her head is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA following the curvature of the edge, below is IN GOD WE TRUST on a raised ribbon in the field. For the reverse a large open agricultural wreath is found within which states 25 / CENTS / 1870 and above the word STANDARD. Elegant russet and gold toning spans the obverse, the reverse with a more complex combination of deeper russet and gold on the left, rich blues on the right.
